Bring this to your community

Church & Small Groups

Restoring Hearts Outreach partners with churches and small groups across Central Florida to host the Grief Recovery Method in your space, with your people, on a cadence that works for your community.

Important: The Grief Recovery Method itself is not faith-based. We partner with churches and faith communities because grief recovery and faith life are often interwoven — but the program welcomes participants of any belief or none.

How a Partnership Works

From first conversation to first cohort

Every partnership is shaped to fit the community. Here’s the typical arc.

1

An exploratory conversation

Holly meets with your pastor, ministry leader, or small-group lead. You walk through what your community is carrying, what your space looks like, and what cadence would actually work.

2

Plan the cohort

Together you set the start date, recruit participants from inside your community, and decide on the format — typically weekly for 8 weeks, with Holly as the facilitator.

3

Holly facilitates on-site

Holly comes to your space and runs each session, working through the Grief Recovery Method curriculum with your group. Confidentiality is honored end to end.

4

Continued community support

After the cohort, your community has the shared language and tools of the method. Many partners run follow-up cohorts with Holly or invite her back for refresh sessions.

Is This the Right Fit?

Who this partnership serves

This partnership is for you if…

  • You lead a church, ministry, or small group and you’re seeing real grief in your community — deaths, divorces, retirements, losses people can’t put down.
  • You want to offer something more substantial than a one-time sermon series or sympathy card — a real, action-based path through grief.
  • You can host weekly meetings (or another cadence) for the duration of the cohort.
  • You’d rather bring an outside facilitator with the credentials and curriculum than try to build something from scratch.
  • You’re comfortable with a method that welcomes people of any belief, and that lets the work do the work.

This may not be the right fit if…

  • You’re looking for a teaching curriculum to deliver yourself rather than a facilitated cohort.
  • Your community doesn’t have a private space where confidentiality can be protected.
  • You want a religious counseling program specifically. The method is faith-friendly but not faith-based.
  • You’re an individual looking for a group — our public Group Grief Recovery cohorts are the better fit.

Bringing Holly into our congregation gave our people a path through grief that we couldn’t offer ourselves. The cohort changed lives in ways we’re still seeing.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

Do participants need to be members of our church or congregation?

No. Most partner churches open the cohort to anyone in the community. Some restrict it to members. Either way works — it’s your call.

Will Holly bring religious or theological content into the cohort?

No. The Grief Recovery Method itself is not faith-based. Holly facilitates the method as written. Your community’s faith life is something you can build on top of the work — outside the cohort sessions.

How many people do we need to host a cohort?

Six is the typical minimum for a meaningful group dynamic. Twelve is the maximum for the method to work well. We’ll figure out the right size for your community together.

What does our church or community need to provide?

A private, comfortable meeting space; recruitment from within your community; and a single point of contact who works with Holly to coordinate. Holly brings the curriculum, the facilitation, and the materials guidance.

How is this different from existing grief ministries like GriefShare?

GriefShare and similar programs are faith-based curricula often led by lay leaders from within the church. The Grief Recovery Method is a secular, evidence-based program facilitated by an outside Certified Specialist. Many churches use both — they serve different needs.

What does it cost to bring Holly to our community?

Partnership fees are scaled to your community’s size and resources. Restoring Hearts Outreach is a nonprofit — we keep this accessible. Reach out for current pricing.

Can we run multiple cohorts back-to-back?

Yes. Many partner churches have run two or three cohorts in succession as word spreads through their community. Holly will work with you on cadence.
